Is this what they had in mind?

I was watching a TV show the other day, and one of the character's cell phones went off. The tune was "Fur Elise" which is a popular cell phone ring. If you aren't sure what "Fur Elise" is check this out:

So, anyhow, it got me to thinking.

I wonder what Beethoven would think if he knew that his composition was now how people knew that others were trying to get in touch with them. I'm sure Beethoven never imagined the cell phone. It would've been a fantastical device to him. I bet he'd freak to hear his song reduced to a ringtone.

I wonder what the guy who invented baseball would think of A-Rod's latest contract?

I read somewhere that the invention of the light bulb has completely changed the sleeping habits of the "civilized" world (i guess by civilized the meant those with electricity and light bulbs, but I don't know if that's a good definition)

I wonder what Edison would think of this picture, which shows how much light is used around the globe:

Finally, I thought about Jesus. (the order of my thoughts, having Jesus come last, is a topic we can discuss some other time!)
I wonder what Jesus would think of the church that started after he died.
I wonder what He'd think if he were walking down Perthshire and saw two great big churches right across the street from one another. Then noticing that, not only did that not make a ton of geographic sense... I mean, you'd think you'd spread out the churches to maximize impact, right? But then, He notices that its two different kinds of churches. One is "Episcopal" and one is "Baptist".
What is that?
I thought we were "Jesus" churches. "Christian".
I wonder what Jesus would think of that.
