One of my major goals for our youth ministry was to connect to other youth groups in our area and to do events together. We had one small event with another church a few weeks ago, but last night we had the kind of event that I had envisioned.

We had a rally for an upcoming event called "See You At The Pole", which is a nation-wide event where students all across the country will meet on Sept 23 around their flagpoles to pray. It is a student-led event and will be held at nearly every Jr High and High School across the country. The rally was to raise awareness of the event for our younger students and to prep them for what to do that morning. It was also I night of prayer and worship. We had an EXCELLENT band from Ada, OK there called Bloodline. I highly recommend them. They are very "United Live"-ish, if you know what that means.
Anyway, we had four churches from the area there, and I counted about 60 kids there, along with a bunch of adults. The other youth ministers I talked to had a great feeling about the event and I hope this is just the first of many events like this.
PS - I'm not trying to take any credit for this event... we really just showed up and brought mustard - Amanda and Georgetown Baptist did most of the work for this, we just supported them in it by getting the word out and showing up.
