An old friend of mine from high school is asking for some help with medical bills for his uncle, Douglas Dommert, who was in a coma after being hit by an alleged Drunk Driver on June 17th while riding his Harley Davidson.
He has since awakened from the coma and is improving while fighting pneumonia.
He will be moved to a nursing home to rehabilitate now that he can swallow food. It's going to be a long road of re-learning how to walk, talk, etc.
He had just started a new job and didn't have insurance. The medical bills are estimated at $500,000.00 and the insurance policy from the drunk only pays a max of $30k. My friend's sister has moved into his home to pay the mortgage and take care of his cats. There are also the fuel expenses incurred on the daily trips to the hospital by his mother and sister, Beatrice & Jacinda, as well as Elaina.

His brother Dale was killed by a drunk driver in 1998.
