Residential Week!

I am here in Wisconsin for my first residential week at Nashotah! There isn't a whole lot to say yet, so I thought I'd post a bunch of pictures for you.

My hotel is about 10 minutes from the school.  Its actually only a couple of miles, but like everywhere I've been so far up here, the speed limit is ridiculously slow.  I've really had to be careful:
Maybe they got the signs on sale when Texas moved all their limits up to "normal".

Got out yesterday morning and found a disc golf course about 10 minutes from my hotel.  Pretty open and flat with really short holes.  Pretty much exactly the opposite of the one at home, which is a nice change.  The baskets are a little weird, but not a big deal.  Though I did have a frustrating shot one one hole:
Bye Bye Birdie.  Doesn't count. :(

The school itself is beautiful.  Surrounded by trees, up against a lake. This is the bookstore:

The Chapel:

A cool hallway that makes me feel like I'm in an old seminary:

(it is an old seminary, but a lot of the buildings have been redone or are new, so it all looks like new old stuff.)

Speaking of old, this is the site of the altar of the first chapel at Nashotah House:

I came up yesterday to try and figure out where all the buildings that I needed to go to today were.  Had a heck of a time finding the building my class is in because it wasn't on the map and there was no signage anywhere (at an Episcopal church? Go figure!). Anyway, I met another guy from my class and we wandered around together and finally just started trying to open doors to random buildings.  We found this room under the eating hall:
Looks like they haven't installed the chains on the wall yet...
We're pretty sure it's where they stick people who wander around where they aren't supposed to.  Funny enough, we did find our classes just across the hall from this room.  Maybe it's "detention".

More to come later, maybe.  I'll try and get some pictures of the inside of the chapel if possible.  Pretty full schedule today (actually everyday is pretty much the same except for the orientations) Chapel orientation at 7:30, Chapel at 8:00, breakfast, 3 hours of class then lunch, then library orientation, then 3 hours of class, then Evensong.  Then I guess I get to go "home" and do homework.
